Who is the best player in the league?
Will any of these guys play college ball?
GI over SMCC by 7, Airport by 36 over GI, Huron over SMCC by 3.
Does that make any sense?
Coaches coach, players play and referees ref. I think that says enough.
Is the Huron League any good?
Kalbfleisch won another close one.
Is shooting a lost art?
Andre Duffin was unbelieveable last night.
Riverview keeps winning.
Jefferson seems to be getting better.
Airport seems to like having Jeremy Pidgeon back.
Spot on with the last comment! The "Hella Pidge" is giving Airport another threat in the lineup. This puts a quality player in Leigh of Pluff in a 6th (7th) man role for a lift off of the bench. Watch out for the Jets, they seem to be surging.
ReplyDeleteAs for Andre Duffin, he is simply amazing for a sophomore. He can defend, shoot, handle the ball, and dunk! My question: Where were these kids last year for Milan?
Huron was the refs and luck on there side. If the ball bounces a different way, Huron could have 4 loses. They are very lucky to be 8-0 in a bad league.
ReplyDeleteAndre Duffin will play college ball. He is the only one in the league that has the talent, maybe scarton if he is lucky.
ReplyDeleteThere are some clowns that are refs, I have seen more bad call this year than any other year. There is not the depth in years passed. Moving girls BB season hurts the boys.
ReplyDeleteThe HL is very weak this year.
ReplyDeleteim going to point at you when flat rock beats huron.
ReplyDeleteHuron has won everyone game legitly. They've pulled from behind in a few games which only shows 2 things? 1]the team they're playing isnt giving it the full attempt leaving them vulnerable to being beaten or 2] Huron works better under pressure. Huron has done what they had to do to win the game and thats exactly what they've done. Huron is a good team and i don't think of the league as being weak? I think of them as not trying. Try harder and you'll see a much better league... ALL players need to give it their all.. not half ass it
ReplyDelete"Try harder and you'll see a much better league... ALL players need to give it their all.. not half ass it"
ReplyDeleteWow... what is the collective IQ of your readers Chris?
TRY HARDER??? Every team tries, there is not as much talent in the league as in years passed. If Huron is winning league titles that is a bad sign for the league. There was a reason that Huron was a bottom feeder in the league for 30+ years - there was more talent in the league.
ReplyDeleteAndre Duffin has the most talent in the league and he is only a Sophomore. What does that say about the talent level in the league.
Tell me your IQ and I can probably answer that question:) (sorry I couldn't resist)
ReplyDeletewhy do people always have to put down huron, just beacause we will tear any team in the hole downriver apart. Huron has beatin alot of good teams out of the league in scrimmages so they no there going to be ready for regionals
ReplyDeleteHL hoops is weak this year...after watching every team (except Milan) the league is not flush with hoop talent. I think there are 2-3 real good players, but after that I see mediocre skill....great effort, but average skill.
ReplyDeleteohh every team is weak besides milan? Im pritty sure huron beat milan
ReplyDeleteYou would be right Chris, my IQ does = the collective IQ of the rest of your readers. Maybe if I olny tried harder?
ReplyDelete"Wow... what is the collective IQ of your readers Chris?"
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure my IQ is twice of your Almost positive. And yes they need to try harder. You guys see the teams that play against us[Huron]? They can be in the lead and they BLOW IT! We come out on top. We keep it together work hard and fix our mistakes. Call the league weak all you want. Its not weak; they just don't try hard. When you only put up 30 points in a game against a team who was on a losing streak? You can see right there they didn't try hard. If you work together and play hard? You can throw up 50+ points a game. The Huron/Milan game was a tough game and they both go to their 50 range... The weak isn't weak, they're just half assing it like i said. Call me dumb, ignorant, or a moron. I'll look at you and laugh because half these kids on the courts are good players on and off it in street games... If they don't do their thing on it, then you know there's a problem. Oh by the way, Huron is 8-0. Milan? The one with so much talent and that is so great? Is now 6-2 along with Riverview. Milan just lost to a quick FR team who is 4-4 in the league... But yet Milan is the only skilled team you see this year? Please. Huron and FR must have more skill then Milan to beat them both.
I remember when Airport could not win more than 2 or 3 football games a year, when they started winning league titals was that bad for the Huron league? No it was not! Please give the boys over at Huron some credit, they have won every game they have played in this year. I think they only lost to CC and Inkster last year. 35-2 over two years is not a bad run.
ReplyDeleteYou have to admit the was a good comeback to the IQ comment:)
ReplyDeleteA couple of points:
I don't agree with the try harder comment. Most teams try hard including Huron. You win with talent, athleticism and experience. Huron has all of those ingredients.
I would agree that the 35-2 stretch is pretty amazing and deserves the respect of people around the league. Especially after the last yahoo over there went a whopping 7-35.
Sorry i was typing too fast and had to go to the bathroom really badly; stomache flu sucks :/ lol give me a break chris :P but anywho I do think we deserve some credit at Huron for the simple fact were actually doing something! I bet you if it was any other school winning like Huron is? They'd get all the credit in the world... But because its Huron; the one school who has bad records from the past? Its hard for people to finally give credit where its deserved. I don't get it... I bet you it will be the same with football. Once the Huron football gets on a horse and starts to do better; they will get shunned and people will say "the HL is weak".. But yet for years its been called the toughest pound for pound league in michigan. Chris knows his stuff and if even he is saying Huron deserves respect then you know its true.
ReplyDeleteHuron Football will never win...write that down
ReplyDeleteAnd why is that?
ReplyDeleteIf SMCC, Airport, Milan, Riverview or FR was winning the league right now everyone would be saying, "Wow great job, what a tough league this year" but just because it's Huron kicking everyone's butt, they all say weak league, bad refs, bad other team coaching, excuses excuses!!
ReplyDeleteGive credit where credit is due!
MIGHTY CHIEFS!
I cant be critical Chris?
ReplyDeletecoaching
ReplyDeleteTo Anonymous at 9:56 P.M.,
ReplyDeleteI take that back. You'll win, once you have the right head coach. Way too much talent on that team last year to be 3-6. Unacceptable. Next year won't be any better. So don't get your hopes up!
Critical? I'm not sure what your talking about but I would say "be careful" when being critical.
ReplyDeleteKalby is a great coach. You guys might not see it but he knows everyone of his players personally and he is very close with us as his players. He does have some learning to do which he is learning more and more each year. He took us from winning maybe 1 game in a season to 5 wins in a season.. This past season we had many injured linemen which is why you saw mainly smaller players on the line.. Which made our running game not as good and Mayrand was under alot of pressure and didn't look too much when passing. All big mistakes will be worked on.. I know they will and this year you can look to see a more diciplined Huron football team. But like I said, Kalby is not at all a bad coach, he just has some learning to do.. All coaches start somewhere in their career. He's starting his. Give him some credit.
ReplyDeleteKC
Huron is the best of a bad league.
ReplyDeleteI think that the Apocalypse is coming, the Saints win the Super Bowl and Huron is actually good a sport. Whats next, flying pigs.
ReplyDeletemake a baseball blog?
ReplyDeleteNobody is good enought to go big time in college but division 3 and community colleges i bet Scarton Richardson Baker Wetzel Stewart could all play somewhere they are very skilled all around players that are athletic enough to play tougher talent
ReplyDeleteAnonymous 2/8/10 - 7:24pm.........Got a great chuckle from that one - I'll tell you what's next.....GI wins more than 2 games!!
ReplyDeleteYou guys sound like your ten with the IQ insults, people rip on Huron because Huron is an annual joke, Riverview should win league if they keep it up but yeah the leagues weak this year
