Huron wins 59-56. SMCC blew it. They had like a 15 point lead and blew it. Bad ball control at the end of the game by cc. Hurons defense picked up in the 2nd half.
Bad ball control? How about the absolute travesty of officiating. 38 freethrows for huron and 7 for central. But as usual on this blog keep jumping on SMCC. They return 10 guys next season that have all played this year. Oh and by the way some Huron fans CLASSLESS trying to bait the coach by yelling some unruly things at players.cc parent
Anonymous I wasn't trying to jump on cc at all. What I meant was that at the end of the game it seemed like cc lost some composure and had a couple turnovers. Sorry if I jumped on cc I wasn't trying to. My apologizes. It just seemed like cc didn't take care of the ball at the end of the game. About the fouls...if I remember right at half the fouls were 7-3 with cc having 7 and in the 2nd half cc had more than 10 and Huron had 9. Huron did shoot a lot more free throws that is true.
SMCC was dominant for 3 quarters (up by 16). As soon as the refs tried to get control of the game (group huddle) it seemed to get even more chippy out there and ironically nothing was called either way. Huron pushed the envelope and won. Huron never gave up and has learned how to finish. Nice game SMCC - you are a very good team regardless of record.
CC fans have absolutely no right to complain about officials or fans. 1. FOR YEARS SMCC has been getting the benefit of the doubt when it comes to the officials. 2. As for fans SMCC has the loudest and rudest fans of any school year and year out. I would say if you blew a 14 point lead in the 4th quarter with NO SHOT CLOCK in high school basketball, that loss is on the COACH, WITHOUT QUESTION!!!!
For 7:35 thanks for at least admitting that about the refs and parents. Saying that cc has gotten away with this for years proves what happened last night. AS far as the coach losing it Winham did a great job of preparing Unfortunately people tend to say one team lost it instead of Huron winning. Huron fans aren't "classless" we have class and stay in control. We group together and have a good time. We don't disrespect other schools or players. We don't swear at the refs for dumb calls; we just boo and move on. If we were so "classless" as you say? We'd be mre brutal during a home game; which we're not. Did anyone see the free throw statistic in the news for the Jeff/View game? View went 20-32 and Jeff went 3-6. You could argue that if Jeff went to the line more often, it could have been an upset!

This year your JV coach got a technical after degrading the Refs with personal derogatory remarks. The coach must be taking lessons from the fans. Until you can show some personal control you will remain at the bottom of the fan list in the Huron League.
Huron is 8-0 because of biased officiating. Milan and CC would have won if it wasn't for that. Huron is an average team and not the best in the league.
1. Wearing a cape to a game. Maybe not classless but sertainly ridiculous.
2. More than once I had seen CC fans not wearing shirts, which I and a large group of kids were kicked out of a Huron game for when I was in high school.
3. Intimidating and threatening basketball players from the stands during in-bounds plays.
Maybe its changed since I was playin at CC jus 2-3 years ago, but CC had the MOST ridiculous fans. I thought it was great and showed a ton of school spirit but with your guys' politically correct views of "class" they lacked it. I personally loved the "classless" fans as an opposing player because it made you feel like the fans hated you as much as you hated them.
Uhm biased officiating??? Huron got called on lame calls in the Milan game left and right! But yet your gonna say the officiating ruined that game right? No. Sorry; but the refs aren't working to help huron because huron get alot of fouls called for barely touching a player. Stockert hit all ball when he went up with a Milan player and didnt even have to jump but was called on a foul.... Give me a break.
wow.. this dude at 629 am says JR got t'ed up for derogatory remarks.. he got t'ed up by a ref that was calling a terrible game when the fouls read huron-8 cc-1 and a huron kid went up for a layup and got hammered but of course the guy didnt call a foul so JR said, "thats rediculous" and the ref turned and t'ed him up thats not too derogatory if you ask me? The the first time he got t'ed up GI was taking 4 steps every time they got the ball and he asked the refs to watch it and maybe call a travel? then he turned to his asst. and made a comment and the ref t'ed him up for nothing?
Everyone on here just needs to chill out just because huron is legit and has beaten everyone at least 3 teams over the last two years doenst mean that its the refs fault, or the league is so bad they wouldnt last in any other league, or anyone elses fault. Will someone just admit that Huron is good, besides a Huron fan? They have talent, they have coaching, they bust their ass, and old man has got a pretty good program going to ensure they arent going to be at the bottom of the league for a long time.

I disagree this is a very physical, fast, talented, and tall team with some serious atheletes. Most of these boys are multi-sport players that are very good in the other sports they play too.
Oh yeah and the 6 wins Huorn got in the non-league games? All weak teams from other weak leagues right? C'mon give the Huron guys some credit. They are good, just admit it!
If you look at all the other leagues that is in this area. The huron league is a average at best league. The best atheletes in the league are from Milan and they do not even live in the distict. Basketball is a sport that takes a very high level of skill. The reason that it is only a average league is becuase of the multi-sport atheletes. I am not saying that this is a bad thing. But in Toledo I know a coach that will not take multi-sport atheletes fot his team. He whats 100 percent of the kids time working on Basketball. How many players in the league that can say that - maybe Scarton.
To "22" I was at the GI JV game and the calls were bad both ways. You have to admit that the parents would scream "Miss or one even said YOU Suck when the GI players were at the line" At other schools you may get a kid or two in the stands with comments like that, but Huron is the only place where the parents say it.
Also, the comment that he got the T for was not him talking to his asst. about GI traveling.... we all heard what he said up in the stands since we were sitting right behind him. It had to do with where the ref learned how to ref and where he got his abilities. What he said is NOT something that he should be doing in front of his players.

Huron has no class, the students, parents, fans, and even coaches have non. That is from the 30+ years losing, they win a few games and now they think they are the "MIGHTY CHIEFS"
