ReplyDeletechris dont you think weclowski, tavtigian and brennan should get more credit. I believe if they were on any other team they would be stars. They just cant shoot the bal that much with richardson and stockert shooting the majority of the tine. They all are very underrated players who play great defense for a 19-0 team. Congrats huron

I agree Richardson should have been named Player of the Year. Huron has an undefeated record and that should speak for itself. I don't take anything away from Scarton he is a really good player as well. But the stats say it all!
ReplyDeleteThe Chiefs had only 2 all leaguers this year, I look for them to have at least 3 next year
ReplyDeleteBrennan
Corbiel
Wint
Brennan an easy 1st teamer.
Corbiel and Wint 1st or 2nd depending on how hard they work in the off season.
I honestly thought Corbiel had the best looking stroke on the team this year he just needs more confidence and be a little tougher.
He will do just fine in 10/11.
Scarton is clearly the best player in the league and deserves his award.
ReplyDeleteRichardson has the advantage of being surrounded by many fine players, at least five of which are better then the next five on FR, save Connor.
How much are the league coaches sick of Kabby to not give him C.O.T.Y? What they did is penalize a man that does his job well every year. Since when did a Coach of the Year vote become a Let's pass it around vote? By the way, Scarton is the best player in the league and that team would have been lucky to win two without him.
ReplyDeletei think brennan and mike are just going to dominate down low next year there really the only big men. I see Brennan improving alot due to aau basketball, weights, and football is just going to make him alot more pysical than the other kids. Mike is just goin to have the size advantage over everyone.
ReplyDeleteVery surprising picks for the two top awards although both are probably deserving of consideration. Look back at the history of the league. The coach of the year is always the coach who wins the league and in this case the coach that was snubbed will win the league by 2 games if not 3 over 2nd place. On the POY side of things history says the same thing. The best player on the best team gets the POY unless the stats aren't close. Look at 2 years ago. Lonnie Pugh won the award because his team won the league. D. Crane was far and away the best player in the league that year and had the stats but didn't get the award. I will go out on a limb and say Stewert wins the award next year and windham gets the coach no matter what happens.
ReplyDeleteScarton Player of the Year
ReplyDeleteI told you so, Man why am I always right. I am some good. I said it from the start.
thanks Chris I can always count on you to filter what I post.
ReplyDeleteHuron 19-0, & 41-2 the last two years.
ReplyDeleteIs the voting fair?
Chris can you please post a list of do's and donts so posts so many posts wont be filtered. i am tyring to avoid posting something that was thought out and lengthy only to not make the board. please help. You seem to be hit or miss on alot of deletions and what you let go.
ReplyDeleteHey sorry guys I want to post everything that is written on here but I am really cognisant of the stuff that is critical of children.
ReplyDeleteIf you say something deragatory about a minor I will filter it. If it is about a professional, meaning someone who is paid I will post it.
If Zac Richardson is not POY because the team around him is so good and Kabby is not COY because his players are so good, why was there only 2 Huron kids on the all league team? I could see Kabby not winning if the POY "carried him." I could see Zac not winning POY if the coach outcoached everybody (which he did...how many times has riverview lost in the league). So how is it none of the above?
ReplyDeletewhat a life good job in huron league mvp it has been a great year for all.go chiefs
ReplyDeleteThe season is over , all the kids played well on all the teams. Congradulation to all the kids. Its time for the adults to stop whinning on who won what. GO BUCS
ReplyDeleteThat is easy for someone from Riverview or Flat Rock to say at this point isn't it?
ReplyDeleteI disagree with Jones first team over Baker
ReplyDeleteChris i have been told many different ways they deside on the voteing including yours.witch you said the best player on the best team.Well two years in a row huron has gotton burned then. And this year Richardson was the better player on the better team flatrock only won 6 games. How can the league be so different every year on how they make thease picks. Not trying to hurt scarton but he was not the best player in the the league.
ReplyDeleteLet's faces it the huron league coaches can't stand getting there butts beat by Huron. And in stead of saying great job they find aways to hurt them. The old man don't care but you hurt a kid that realy should have gotten MVP and gave it to someone who did not.
ReplyDeleteRichardson did not win player of the year because he playes for huron. No one like Huron. If he played for any other team he would have won.
ReplyDeleteHere are my thoughts... Scarton means the most to his team out of the three. Richardson has the hottest hand out of the three, but lets get real anybody who watched stewart this year should know he's the best player in the league. FLAT ROCK has DISSAPOINTED their fans time and time again this season with their efforts sometimes it just doesnt seem like they show up to play. Huron not a big fan but they find a way to win and thats in most thanks to Richardson. Stewart on the other hand gets his team to just CLICK there is no doubt about that, he gets the ball inside he scores and he's just a floor general out there Flat Rock is 0-4 agains Huron and Riverview this year, all 4 games Stewart and Richardson showed up to play we can't really say the same about Scarton. Now dont get me wrong Scarton is a great player, but most should know it should have went Stewart, Richardson, and Scarton for MVP voting.
ReplyDelete... any thoughts i'd like to hear them
I wrote a very complimentary post about Weclowski that never made the board? Nothing critical at all.
ReplyDeleteI have not seen any games this year, so I am curious, What is the problem at FR? I know they were good at one time. But I read they have the league player of the year, yet only have 6 or 7 wins this year. Is the coaching a problem or is there no talent or is the league down that bad? Just wondering.
ReplyDeleteSo chris what happen to best player on the best team mvp. And the coach who wins league wins coach of the year.
ReplyDeleteI don't know. Like I said earlier, I guess the only award that matters is the League Championship and Huron has two in a row.
ReplyDeleteThe sports writers will get it right no phone calls going on.
ReplyDeleteNo body likes Huron that is reason they did not get the COTY and POTY
ReplyDeleteNobody likes the team beating up on the rest of the league. During football season nobody liked SMCC. But once the regular season is over, and we enter districts and regionals, I hope we are all rooting for the Huron league teams that advance in the tournament like we did for SMCC! It only makes the rest of us look good if one or more of our teams advances.
ReplyDeleteShould've been Baker over Jones

Baker - 13
Total Shots
Jones - 246
Baker - 168

Jones - 1.8
Baker - 4.4

Baker - 7.2

Jones - 2.2
Baker - 1.8

I dont see how the Huron League Coaches could mess this up... Baker earned it
Thease guys are on the same team what are you doing. That makes airport look bad.
ReplyDeleteDoes Huron repeat as champs IF they dont have Richardson? 20-0 pretty good season. Back to Back Huron League Titles. Richardson MVP
