Monday Night District Games

Jefferson/Grosse Ile @ Huron 5:30 pm. This game is a chance for both teams to use as a momentum booster for next season. The Islanders have already beaten the Bears twice but this is a Jefferson team that has been playing better lately. Jeffeson will need to get some balanced scoring out of it's lineup and rebound the ball effectively if they are to win. Grosse Ile needs to use their speed and shooting ability if they plan on getting their 3rd victory over the Bears this season. Pick: Bears by 2.

Flat Rock/Huron @ Huron 7:00 pm. This is the third installment of what has been a great series this season and last. Huron has manged to win the first two games but the Rams are eyeing an opportunity to ruin their rivals finest season in school history. This is a matchup between two very good players but look for another player to decide the outcome. If you want to see two teams that don't particularly care for each other and have already played two barn burners this year then come out for the game. This is a tough one to pick but I have to say it is tough to beat a team three times in one season. Pick: Rams by 1 OT

Airport/Saline @ Saline 8 pm. Saline has struggled this season but they play in a competitive league which should prepare them for the Jets. Airport has been playing some fine basketball as of late but their size may hurt them on Monday Night. The Jets will need to have a solid shooting night if they are to win this game. The Hornets will have an advantage by having the homecourt advantage but look for Airport to win a close game on the road. Pick: Jets by 1

  1. Huron by 25 on Monday night. this is payback time for the injustice done to the Huron basketball program. Richardson will go for 30 while the Flat rock guards try to throw down youtube dunks. The Chiefs keep the travelling trophy in good hands and will take home the district trophy on Friday! Justice will be served Monday night

  3. Don't you get it. Chris is only picking the Chiefs to win so he can find another reason to rip on Flat Rock. We all know Huron will win. Not winning this district would a major upset for anyone of these teams to pull off.

  4. Actually I saw both games this year and all three last year and I think FR matches up well with Huron. The game could go either way and I based my pick on the fact that FR is probably due.

I'm not sure how my pick would allow me to rip on FR in any way no matter the outcome.

By the way, thanks for visiting! I knew you were a fan:)

  6. To anonymous at 11:23...NO ONE can touch the Chiefs? Just wondering did Airport just take Huron into double overtime? Did Flat Rock not play them close both times? How about when Riverview went into Huron and Huron won the game with 3.5 seconds left? Ha but of course no one can touch Huron right? haha some people crack me up.

  9. The Huron / FR game could be interesting, although I thin Huron is too deep and have the home court advantage. You got to admit it though, it is a great rivalry. Most these kids all know each other pretty well.
I am a FR fan, but I do tip my hat to Huron for what they did this year and last. And I know that what ever sport it is, when we play Huron it is a game that usually gets circled on the calander.Do not be too concerned with Scarton Huron, you did that last time and Conners almost scalped you himself.
It comes down to coaching and Huun definetly has the edge there.
Good luck to both teams, leave it all on the floor tonight boys!

  10. Might Chiefs!

Bring home the victory and put a lasso to these rams and shut them up. Play hard. Run quick. Be on with your shots. You'll win. Good luck!
