  4. I dont remember the score but Huron won... I think its safe to say that nobody can beat the might chiefs our players played well and we won a closer game then it looks against Airport... Richardson did his scoring and Stockert owned the glass... But Baker on Airport from what i saw is the only person worth anything... when he came off one time in the 3rd you should have seen how awful Airport looked it was actually kinda funny... you can tell he means everything to his team... But I dont wanna see another person predict Huron to lose cuz your on crack

  5. No I didn't see any games tonight. St. John's Waltz had a game in Walled Lake. Had dinner with an old coaching buddy afterward. Good times.

  6. SMCC beats Jefferson 63-53 in OT.

  7. The problem with Huron league teams is they have one guy who shoots three's all night. You have your scartons your jone's your weztles and stwart's.And people call that BB come on no team work no plays it's sad.The chiefs all play well together and no what there job is.Baker from airport should have played by him self. He does not share the ball he had guys open all night.IN stead of Jones and Baker working together they look like there fighting each other for shots.

  8. SMCC 63
    Jefferson 53 OT

    Pederson 16, Shinevarre 15
    Great game for both teams

  9. Flat Rock/GI battle for the bottom of the Cellar Friday!

  10. Baker doesnt share the ball? He's one of the top in the league in assists... dont undermind Baker because he had to get things going against a tough Huron team... He was the only one with the skills to make things happen... you saw what happened when he was out of the game... and he had zero turnovers... and i dont remember him taking a bad shot... so whoever the poster is at 10:17 saying that is wrong... Huron is better they won but dont try putting down players

  11. Keenan wetzels dunk was sweet! Really gave thEm momentum in ot. Pederson and shinevare played awesome

  12. These are my thoughts after Tuesdays Games

I wanted to attend the Flat Rock vs. Riverview game but the Huron vs. Airport game was to big to miss.

First Off whats up with SMCC... They played almsot flawless against Airport... They were on fire from everywhere and then after that game they go and get killed by Huron and then went to overtime with Jefferson? Jefferson? SMCC yes its a win but you should not be proud of yourselves at all after beating them... But i guess Keenan Wetzel dunked which is pretty cool

Whats up with Flat Rock... You would think Scarton by the time he became a Senior would be unstoppable like Devin Crain was... Dont get me wrong Scarton I think is still best player in the league but I thought the Rams would be doing better.

The Huron vs. Airport game was an awesome game to watch... Both teams played their hearts out... Huron was up by 12 at end of first half but only won by 12 so the second half was back and forth... Richardson played decent i wouldnt say he dominated like other people always put on here... Yeah he scored his points but the real player on Hurons team last Night was Stockert. He owned the boards he had to have had like 15 rebounds and like 20 points... Weclowski played alright but if Caleb Tavtigian keeps getting hype then you guys do not know basketball... Hes the point for a good team but he is nowhere even close to as good as people make him out to be... Baker was phenomenal for Airport yesterday you could tell he was playing his heart out... Smith and Fidler had a tough matchup against Stockert which I thought was the difference... Jones needs to shoot better from the free throw line... I think he missed like 6 Free Throws

  13. No one said anything about the officials at the Huron/Airport Game. The Huron boys couldn't breathe on the Airport boys without a fould being called. On the other hand the Airpots guys were hacking the hell out of the Huron guys witout a single whistle being blown. It really didn't matter though because Huron outmatched Airport so well that even the officials couldn't help em.

  14. WOW!! I am amazed that Jefferson took SMCC to OT. It has been said on here numerous times so I will say it again. Lone gone are the days of the Legend.

SMCC and Flat Rock may lead the pack in the biggest dissapointments of the year up to now. They have both have what we all thought were preseason favorites for player of the year. And both are under achieving.

Milan may be the only team able to give Huron a challenge.

  15. Huron vs. Airport
This was probably Huron’s toughest test of the year. Huron totally dominated two areas of the game that lead them to a win.
First, Huron totally dominated down low vs. Airport. Stockert dominated in the post the second half of the game. Huron should throw it in the post more to him. He is the best big man in the game.
Second, Huron won the game with their depth. It was very clear that Airport had no depth at all. Huron could bring waves of quality kids off the bench to give there starter a rest. Airport has nothing off the bench. The injury to Jeremy Pidgeon is huge injury for Airport. They have on one off the bench to replace his scoring.

  16. Baker had 2 assists and no steals last night.A true point must find the open guy.If Baker was more of a point gaurd his team would do a lot better.being 5th out of 8 teams is not that good not for a point gaurd.Come on Richardson had 7 assists and 4 steals and he's not even a point gaurd.

  17. mike kowalski had a sweet dunk

  18. wetzels dunk wasnt even a dunk are you kidding, i attend jefferson and that dunk was weak. Jefferson had that game won, it all came down to free throws and missed layups. Jv game was awesome, double OT but to bad the good guys lost! SMCC is a way different ball team without lowers or however you spell it. DA BEARS!

  19. My Thoughts after first two weeks of league play.

    Huron - Will lose 12-2
SMCC - Will get better 9-5
Milan - Is the sleeper 9-5
    Airport - Over rated 8-6
    Jefferson - Needs a PG 3-11
Riverview - One year away 8-6
Flat Rock - One man team 4-10
Grosse Ile - No Talent 3-11

  20. Anonymous at 1:21PM, First you said it wasn't a dunk and then you said it was a weak dunk. Make up your mind! I was there too and it was a dunk and yes it was weak, but it was still a dunk. And yes the JV game was very exciting.

  21. First of all everything Jeff threw up went in.Look Smcc had 1 guy that played at all last year and they are trying to run a different style this year give Jefferson credit thay played good last night. They won the game because of the decesions that were made at the end of the game. As I had said before what made you think Smcc was supposed to be so good. Because they have one good streaky shooter.

  22. Huron has a very liberal stat person to give richardson 7 assists vs. airport I seen MAYBE 2-3 assists at most. It is not an assist if he passes the ball at half court and they dribble it 10 times then scores

    ReplyDelete
  23. Huron - 13-1 (only loss to Milan away)
    Milan - 11-3
    Riverview - 9-5
    SMCC - 9-5
    Airport - 8-6
Flat Rock - 8-6 (they will start a W streak)
    Jefferson - 2-12
    Grosse Isle - 1-13

    (League Play)

  24. Wetzel did dunk. I was standing in the front row right by the rim. That sucks no kid on Jefferson got the oppurtunity to dunk.

  25. Actually, Richardson got his assists. He made a good pass to Stockert to put him in position to make a move on nearly everyone of his baskets... and Huron Shouldn't lose. They replaced what they lost in Reed, and the rest of the league got worse? and it is an assist if he passes from half court and his teammate gets an uncontested layup of off MAybe 1 dribble... but I don't know too many guys that need 10 dribbles from half court to the basket.

  26. 61 wins 51 losses

Anonymos @ 3:26 Do the math they have to equal out You are just throwing out numbers

    ReplyDelete
  27. Does anyone no how the jv teams are ?

    ReplyDelete
  28. To the poster at 3:25.....rethink your picks! The sum of the W's have to equal the sum of the Losses. You have 6 teams with winning records in the league. Something's got to give. "Basketball Man" did his homework and made sure it all equalled out. One of those middle teams (namely Flatrock) probably won't have a winning season.

  29. Wow your honestly going to say that Baker isnt a point guard... You obviousely know nothing... A point guard is the guy who handles the ball... everyone looks at the point guard as an assist man... Your completely wrong point guards need to be a threat... Baker can shoot and drive he is a scorer so yes if Jones isnt open then i want Baker shooting... and what im getting at is the point guard is the one who takes care of the ball for you right? Against Hurons so called amazing Defense he played the entire game and had 0 turnovers... Scarton and Baker are the only legit poiint guards in league

    ReplyDelete
  30. Those "legit" point guards have lost to Huron's defense buddy...

    ReplyDelete
  31. well id rather have Scarton then Baker anyday, heheheheheheheheheheheheheheheh :]

    ReplyDelete
  32. Huron has a very liberal stat person, Huron has made 184 baskets and they have 131 assists
COME ON THERE IS NO WAY
Huron probably have 40-50 lay-up on the year. So that means there is an assist on every huron Basket?

    ReplyDelete
  33. All right everyone quit talking crap on here... Huron Face it you have the best team but you dont have best point guards Scarton is the best and Baker is second best... Richardson can score, i would say he is a better scorer then wetzel is, and the two best big guys are kowalski and stockert... Get back to talking bout the league and quit dogging everyone else... thats all Huron does... I see nothing but comments about Huron being good but if there is any comment about another team being good or another player being good all you huron kids keep getting on and bashing everyone... yes your good but the huron league is weaker then a lot of leagues... show some class...

    ReplyDelete
  34. The reason the Huron league is weak is because of coaching not talent.Like the PG for riverview in the news herald the only thing he is listed at is scoreing. How can a PG not be in the top 25 in assists. He's not in the top 25 for assists, rebounds,or steals. How can you say your a true PG.Huron has four guys on that assists list.I just saying it seems every year in huron league the coaches just look for a shooter. On Hurons team you must play Def. first or you don't get to go on that floor. Then everyone has a job to do and you better do it if you want to be on that floor. We have shooters to Richardson and Stockert but you will also see everyone else get points to. Not like other teams we will also have four guys with 6 or 8 points.Hurons key to winning is team work everyone does there job and they play together.I have not seen that with any other team.I here Milan plays good team ball have not played them yet.Coaches need to put team ball back on there to do list and stop thinking about there tricky plays.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Ok Huron you have the best TEAM in the history of the huron league and the best coach ever. Hope you don't hurt your arm patting yourself on the back.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Huron has the best stat person and pads richardson's stats. They also let him shoot 50 shots a game (only record half of them though) They also give him weak assist. End of story.
