Opening Night Thoughts

Here are some idle thoughts on the opening night for most Huron League teams.

Flat Rock struggled mightily against a rebuilding Ida squad.

Keenan Wetzl is an absolute stud.

Grosse Ile was outscored by 14 points in the 4th quarter in their 59-52 loss to Woodhaven.

Airport struggled with a rebuilding Carlson squad but a win is a win.

Zach Richardson will have something to say about Player of the Year voting.

Giving up only 32 points in a game usually results in a win.

Milan and Riverview remain undefeated.

  1. Dont get me wrong Daniel Jones had a very good game Tuesday Night but everyone needs to quit looking at points for performance Tyler Baker is the one who got the ball to Jones everytime he scored and also added 18 himself with a 3 that sent game into overtime... Spencer Smith of Airport... i though also thought played very very well

  2. The score of the Mason-Jefferson game is unbelievable!! 32-21 WOW!

Keenen Wetzel is the best player to player in the huron league since maybe Aaron White..

Flat Rock will be fine.. But they need to attack the basket more. People thought Ida was good because of Jobe. They are a very solid defensive team.

  4. he is not the best player at all... best shooter maybe but he is not the best player... Scarton is better and skill wise there are other players who i think are overall better Richardson from Huron Baker from Airport

  5. hey Chris, if you had to pick one backcourt from any team in the huron league, who would you pick and why?

I think someone asked what backcourt people would rather have and never recieved feedback from you a long time agp, and im just wondering now who you think would be your pick after the 1st week of the season.

  6. That is a tough question. There are some good backcourts in the league this year. I would have to go with Tavtigian and Richardson from Huron. Tavtigian handles the ball extremely well while running the point and plays excellent defense. Richardson is 6'3" and shoots it extremely well and has added the dribble drive to his arsenal this year. Coincidently, Tavtigian didn't start in the opener.
