  4. No one wants to complain about teams and players OR boast about their average players kids and what not, WONDER WHY.
Because the goons from huron and airport graduated and they were the only ones living their lives based on a blog. I appreciate getting updates and opinions about the league and this year... Nothin :[

  6. Airport beat GI without Posey - who in fact quit the team. What coach lets that dude turn his stuff in? Could he be that much of a distraction?

  7. Dude, you have no idea bout Posey. This kid has been given so many chances and finally his luck has run out. He has only skipped out on practices and been late to many others 20 times this year. When times get tough, he tends to check out and I think this is what he did. I also heard that Huron has lost 2 players. The Wint kid and 1 of the VanGeisen boys (sp?). Any truth to those rumors?????

  9. Congrats to SMCC on winning the Huron League title tonight. Playing shorthanded, they fought hard the whole night, led by Shinevarre's 30 pts. He was their team tonight, but he fouled out with 2 minutes to go down 4 and they still won. Milan should've won this game, but gave the game away. Too many unforced TO's down the stretch, and of course the dreaded FT misses. Although it was a great win for SMCC, I was not impressed by either team tonight. I know CC was without 2 starters & give them credit for the W. But this was a sloppy game with missed shot after missed shot, exception being Shinevarre. If those are the 2 best teams in the Huron, then the Huron is in bad shape. It is so discouraging to see the state of HS hoops in this area so bad. I don't know if the CC boys will be back to play this year, if they do though, they could make some noise in the class C tourney. If not, they will be out in the regionals. By the way, no region team has won a regional title since 1988/89 season out in Dundee. How sad is that!!!!!

  10. What coach sends a player out of practice for forgetting a practice jersey. Or late on a snow day when parents are working. Airports now has 7 kids that either quit or chose not to play this season who were potential starters. Its gotta suck at practice. When will these coaches get it?

  11. The kids know the expectations. Forgetting a practice jersey for practice turns into forgetting a game jersey for a game. It's called discipline.

As for late to a practice. Call a friend, a teammate, the coach or leave a little earlier. Excuses breed losing.

  12. Amen to you Schultz. Whoever that Airport poster is doesn't believe in discipline. And this is one of the major problems in HS sports today. Many of todays kids think that they are supposed to get whatever they want w/out having to earn it. Its ok to miss practice, or show up late, or forget your practice jersey. You can still play, or better yet, if disciplined, just have mommy set up a meeting with the coach and AD and then your back playing and all credibility to the coach is gone. We live in a society nowadays of pushovers and wimps. We need to change and change quickly!!!!!!!

  13. You all have missed the point. Coaches do not need to be this hard ass inflexable drill sargent. Doesn't work anymore. Unfortunately things are different now and kids function better with a good relationship than constant nagging like they get from their parents. No excuse for being late but winning helps team moral and fixes a number of ills. In Monroe County, basketball is 3 or 4 on the popularity list for HS sports. Kids at Airport or elsewhere will choose not to play. Have you proven a point if no one plays?

  14. And that is the big problem with our society today. No one wants to take accountability for anything anymore. We are breeding our children to fail when they become adults by coddling the heck out of them. Whatever happened to being hard nosed and disciplined???? Now we just have kids that want to have fun!!!! Everything is about being fun and not having to struggle to accomplish something. If we teach our kids that it is ok to skip out on simple rules to follow, then we are in deep trouble. Bring your stuff to practice, be on time, and work your tail off. Sounds pretty hard to follow those rules. We make to many excuses for things and it needs to stop sometime. Man up and quite being wussies and compete!!!!!!!!

  15. I have a question, how could davaun posey get to practices if he cant get a ride? You want the kid to walk? Doesnt seem fair, basketball is hard enough just running up and down the court and you want a kid to walk however many miles to the school to play? You people are very harsh.

  16. How did he make the year before??? God forbid you make plans. Hey buddy, come pick me up for practice, or coach, I need to get transportation to practice, what can we do????? Coaches are pretty good people that could probably figure something out. There is one player that lives really close by who could of easily picked him up as well. You make it work thats it. Quit making excuses, b/c its getting old and tired.
