55 points? CC wins by 55. I know that mason is horrible but 55? Looks like CC may cause some noise this year. Is there still a running clock in high school games? It used to be like 35 in the 3rd qt and the clock would continue to run. If thats the case, did mason even play in the game or was it just CC doing layup drill all night long.
It is a running clock once the lead reaches 40 and continues untill the lead shrinks to under 20. Mason is a young team and will struggle this year. I give coach Shawn Bussell credit, He could have stopped coaching but didn't. SMCC starters were on the bench with 6:00 mintues left in the 3rd quarter and didn't return. The reserves played very well. The Falcons will be tested next week when Loy Morrix and Deaborn Divine Child come to town.
Airport will struggle all season. Coach playing with the line up just like in Monroe. Lost the attention of senior leaders alreasdy. Not going to be pretty.
Airport blown out by 60 by Plymouth Salem!! No well coached highschool team gets blown out by that much. Talent deprived but I saw scorers and rebounders on the bench. Huh? Whats the message?
To the last 2 posters at 12:47 and 11:43, you guys are both morons! Playing with the lineup? He has no line up!!!!!!! Senior leaders? There are only 2 that played on the team last year, and they are by no means vocal leaders!!!!! The problem is a lack of motivation by students to do anything at that school. Marino's team has : a starter who was cut from the varsity team last year, a reserve who was cut by the jv team last year, a reserve who was 12th man on the jv last year, and a reserve who hasn't played since the 8th grade. Throw in a starter who was playing middle school ball last year at the most important position and there you have it. The freshman will be good in time. Dave Mac will have some solid shooting nights coupled with many poor nights because he will have to do more than he can in order for them to be close. Devaun P. is an athlete who can sky, but is very limited in most other areas. The cupboard is very bare over there in Jet country, let's give the new coach some slack and see if his players continue to play hard. By the way, I saw them play earlier in the year, and they did play very hard! They are just very inexperienced and under-talented.
I'm assuming you meant this post elsewhere but I would agree with your assessment. You win with talent period. I've been associated with and coached many teams. always seemed to have good years with talented teams especially those with experience. Sometimes you have talent and it's inexperienced which results in a less than average season. Coaches get replaced or leave and that talented bunch gets a year older and wiser and they have a good season. It's not rocket science people. I can name 20 coaches who could coach circles around Kurt Keener at Country Day but he wins consistently because he has the best players on his team. Just my two cents.
some pretty delusional assessments on here in regards to Airport. I hate posting, but Airport is thin as can be. Their bench consists of a first year senior, a kid who didn't play last year, a former JV sub and a senior who got cut as a junior. Their are no scorers on the bench. Their best bet is to work hard, stay positive and hope for some improvement over the course of the year. Watched CC play tonight and they lost, but they played an utlra-athletic team that would easily win the Huron league. CC is tall and well coached, if they don't win the league I will be surprised.
We’re going to have this same conversation 2 years from now and Airports team gets no more talented or any more experienced. Previous posts state that a number of kids didn’t want to play for the new coach. (Johnson/Lewis/Jones…) If these guys are on the team then the season is a different story. Why is the best rebounder on the bench? Why is the 6-3 point guard on the wing? Guys are starting and playing with no experience. Coach did this at Monroe. Monroe has same talent as last year. Check the standings. I disagree, in high school its not always the talent.
Saw the CC game against Davine Child. The CC line up was dominate. I agree with the previous post. DC coaching was excellent. Kept his kids in it. called time outs when needed. No where near as talented as CC but dinged em by 10. Kids need to be coached.
6'3" pg, really? I didn't know they had that. Best rebounder on the team on the bench? Who are you referring to, Posey? Not sure what you are talking about. And what is the record at Monroe? 2-2!!!! They've beaten Southgate which is an ok team and a horrible Fordson team. 2 losses against better teams and better teams down the road. Monroe finishes 500 at best. So its not like their any better.
Really. Southgate was the better team that night and Airport does have a 6-3 guard that can bring it up the court. Saw it with my own 2 eyes. They used the freshman instead?? They also have a big 6-0 225 guy who looked good but sat. Posey played half the game I saw. Why shoot yourself in the foot. playem if ya gotem....
ha, airport must not even be good enough to get there scores put up.....nice chris

ReplyDeleteHold Mason to 2 second half points? I wonder why Bedford and Dundee didn't want to play CC.
